We study to become musicians, so far no rain, practitioners of an art that the genesis of humanity has always occupied a leading position among the priorities. But have we ever wondered what is for us, not what it represents, in this case we illustrate an allegory that we remember it, but that's not what you should be asking.

If we ask what is the music, we have to answer that for us right now, and always has been, in our opinion, for all humanity or even what it was and how it has evolved in time.

* Music as a sound: One of the most common definition of music is the art of organized sound, or - more specifically - the art of producing meanings and feelings, more or less complex - and still voluntary in nature - organizing sound and silence. Similar definitions - commonly accepted - have been widely adopted since the nineteenth century, when people started to scientifically study the relationship between sound and perception.

* Music as subjective experience: Another common definition of music means that music should be pleasant and melodic. This view ignores the fact that some types of "organized sound" are not music, while others are not. There are more elaborate versions of this definition, taking into account the fact that what is considered music varies from culture to culture and from era to era. This definition was predominant in the eighteenth century. Mozart, for example, used to say that "he never forgets the music itself, it must never cease to be music."

* Music as a category of perception: A cognitive definition, less common, argues that music not just sound, or the perception of it, but an internal representation of that perception, action and contribute to memory. This definition is influenced by cognitive science, whose purpose is the search for brain regions responsible for analysis and storage of the various aspects of the experience of hearing music. This definition also includes different arts such as dance.

* Music as a historical and anthropological study: The journey and the evolution of musical thought to run parallel with the goal of human history. L 'anthropology is nell'etnomusicologia answers that other human studies fail to give.

* Music as a social construct: The post-modern theories claim that, like art, music is defined primarily in its social context. From this point of view, the music is what everyone called music, which is composed of silence, sounds, or performance. The famous opera "Four Minutes and Thirty Seconds" by John Cage was the result of this conception of music.

* Music as body care and / or spirit of the Music Therapy: The quality of the music releases will always materialize anywhere in the world. The beneficial power derived from listening to music, or create and reproduce distinguishes the two main branches related to science itself, which always come from common roots, the music. Observed in Europe and the West in recent times, after the sixteenth century, it becomes a therapeutic tool itself, to use today, ranging from the treatment of depression, very serious mental illness, neurodegenerative disorders and so on. In ancient times and in places still culturally very westernized music therapy can be defined as a fundamental aspect of civic education, understood as "awareness of being alive," then exist. In Africa, for example, making music with simple percussion instruments such as rudimentary or bamboo flutes is the common heritage in society, it is likewise participate in the singing and dancing, as well as, of course, listening. The key issue is participation in the Music, which is elected by, prayer, dialogue and debate in the most civil human terms.
